He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Lois Elizabeth Maynard Wiegand and John Henry Wiegand Sr. A lifelong San Antonian, David joined the United States Air Force upon graduation from Highlands High School in 1964. David was active in CYO at his home parish, Holy Name Catholic Church, became a Eagle Scout, and was honored as outstanding youth of the parish in 1964. As a single adult he worked as a roll model with Big Brother's Big Sisters, became a founding member of the Mission City Van Club, and was a dedicated and faithful member of the Brackenridge High School Booster Club and lifetime supporter of the Brackenridge Eagles Football team. David is survived by his brother, John Henry Wiegand, Jr. and his spouse Ramie Richardson Wiegand; sister, Marietta Kaye Wiegand Garcia, nephew Aaron Andres Garcia and niece Sarah Alexis Garcia. Graveside services through Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery are pending.

I will always remember all the functions we attended and the after-game get-together rides in Roberts's little bus. Rest well my friend and someday we will all ride together again.
