I had the opportunity to reaquaint myself with David over the past decade.  I wasn't close with him or his brother while I was in high school but I wish I would have been.  He really enjoyed being part of the Bexar Shooting Range and was a lot of fun to be around.  I owe him several evening meals that he refused to let me pay for.  Maybe I will get the opportunity to pay him back in the future!

David and his wife Ellen were just a pleasure to be around.  I became reacquainted with David after shooting with his son Randy for a few years.  Fortunately they shot The Grand American Trap Shoot together in Sparta, Illinois last year.  David was always a helpful guy and I was fortunate to have been around him a bit. Recently David ran the Trainer Hale Shooting Supply Store at National Shooting Complex during the World Skeet Championships, and I really enjoyed out conversations last week.  After closing their store on Fri afternoon, David and his wife were out for dinner with friends, and in good spirits.  After dinner he sat in "his chair" and Ellen discovered he had passed later that evening.

David was very helpful, well respected and highly thought of.  He will be missed in the Shooting Community.

David and I were in the same advisory, Mr. Geisler's,  in high school. I do believe he was the most accident prone kid in school. It seem like every weekend he came back to school on Monday morning with a broken bone! He was really a fine person, and some how we both ended up marrying people from the Pleasanton area.

Prayers for your family.
