Kathleen was a dear friend at Highlands and at church, Highlands Christian Church. She and Marian were both easy to be around, funny, caring and true friends. Kathleen, Roslyn Battle and I spent a weekend at our family ranch and it is a special memory for me. Roslyn also recently passed away. My condolences to Ken, Marian and her family.

Kathleen Louise Aitches Anders, age 77, went to be with Jesus and her son Kendall on October 4, 2024.
She was born in Spring Valley, Illinois to Billie Ruth Farris Aitches and Anton Augustus Aitches on July 3, 1947. From the age of 4, she was a lifelong resident of San Antonio.
A graduate of Highlands High School, she attended San Antonio College. In 1966, she married her beloved husband Kenneth Wayne Anders.
Kathleen was loved and admired by all who shared her life. Her sweet spirit, beautiful smile, kindness, and sense of humor drew people to her. Unfailingly dependable, organized, energetic and loyal, she was indispensable to so many.
Her family and her faith were the mainstays of her life. She was a member of Cornerstone Church for almost 50 years, where she was honored to be a member of Women of Esther, leaders and teachers of the Ladies Bible Study. For over four decades, she and Ken hosted Home Ministry.
She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who gave unflinchingly of her time and energy. Her family was blessed to be under her loving care. Her grandchildren were central to her life for many years, and she was a special grandmother to them all. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loved ones.
An enthusiastic hostess, she organized family birthday parties, Thanksgiving meals, and memorable Fourth of July celebrations. Her and Ken’s home became the center of Farris family Christmas parties for years.
She loved to travel, and her organizational skills were legendary. She planned family trips to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, and many other destinations in the U.S. She and Ken had so much fun on car trips to swap meets across Texas and beyond.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Colleen, and her son Kendall. She is survived by Kenneth, her husband of 58 years, her daughter Kristen Anders, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren as well as her sisters Mariana Aitches Davis (Glover Davis) and Sharon Lueck (Robert Lueck), and her brother Scott Aitches. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also mourn her passing.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Salvation Army of San Antonio.
