I remember Betty; a quiet, unassuming girl. I remember her from some of my classes. I think she was in our "Couch" homeroom. She had a sort of MonaLisa smile and I can see her in that painting now. Was she laughing at us? Did she know something about the rest of us -- or herself -- that the rest of us didn't know?
I was saddened and surprised to, once again, see someone I had seen so many school years, day in and day out -- gone. She should be out there now. Bragging with the best of us about kids and grandkids.
I'm hoping she left some kin behind that miss her. I would think that they could tell us now about the little MonaLisa smile.
