My condolences to Ronnald's family and friends. My memory of Ron in high school of a friend and a young gentleman. He, as so many of our classmates is gone too soon. RIP.
Your husband, father. grandfather, brother and uncle was loved by many and respected by all. Many of us played little league baseball in the 50’s in Highland Hills on the southeast corner of San Antonio. But, most of us didn’t play as well as Ronnie. He was truly phenomenal. He could read the print on the baseball as it approached the plate and he had a swing like Mickey Mantle. I remember when he hit a home run over the centerfield fence at the old SA Missions major league stadium . Throughout the years, when I watched the movie “The Natural” I always thought of Ronnie. It’s always sad when we lose a childhood friend, but I’m smiling because I know when he walked through those golden gates that his friend - my brother Allen tossed him a ball and said, “Welcome to the real All Stars team.” Remember the good times.
Ronnie just sat at our table at the HHS Class Reunion of 64 this last summer. Shirley Shires and myself sat next to him. He looked so good and I had not seen him in years. Always liked Ronnie in school. He was a great guy. He came to say goodbye to all of us. Love and prayers to his wife and family. May God give you strength for the days ahead and ease your broken hearts! With Love Angie Huntington
