I will never forget the fun we had at Rogers Jr High when Toby Hughes (algebra teacher) & Drama Club advisor directed us in one of the three plays the Drama Club put on for the school and parents in the 9th grade. You were a great sport & a good friend. Thank you for serving our country in Viet Nam. We miss you and our prayers go to your family. We will not forget you and the sacrifice you made for us.
I was shocked the day I read your name as a casualty of the Vietnam War. Somehow, it brought reality to all the reports on television. I haven't forgotten. YOU SHOULD HAVE A FLAG AND MORE BY YOUR NAME!
Ronnie was the first of my friends to die in Vietnam and unfortunately was not the last. I was shocked when I heard he died and to this day when I go to the Vietnam Memorial I seek his name and pray for him.
Yes it was a sorrowful day when I heard long long time ago that Ronnie was killed in Vietnam. He lived right down the street from me. He was a fun person.
Ronnie was a dear friend. He road to & from school (HHS) with me and "my gang" for 2 years. Lots of good times in the car on the way home. He had a younger brother, Steve, who got into lots of trouble after Ronnie was killed. I hope he turned out well. The Poole's only had the 2 boys, and losing Ronnie had to be devastating to the whole family. I also look up his name every time I visit "The Wall". It is always such a moving and tear-jerking visit. What an impact it has on everyone, especially if you have someone you loved listed on that wall. To Ronnie and his family: Thank you for your service and sacrifice. "We are the Land of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave."
